Dallas has signed Gavin Bayreuther to a one-year, one-way contract ($775,000 AAV).

Bayreuther had two goals, 12 assists, 61 SOG, 23 PIMs and a -18 plus/minus through 51 games played with Columbus in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, one-year contract worth $775,000 with Dallas. The 29-year-old defenseman will join his second NHL team and brings five goals, 28 points and a -17 plus/minus across 122 games played to the Stars back end.

Bayreuther has been a healthy scratch for the Blue Jackets' previous two games but will draw back into the lineup Tuesday as they take on the New Jersey Devils. The 28-year-old has two goals, four assists, 27 SOG, 15 PIMs and a -5 plus/minus through 22 games this season.

Bayreuther spent all of the 2020 season with Texas (AHL), where he led all of their defensemen with 29 points (6G / 23A) in 59 games. He had a 19-game stint with Stars in 2019, picking up two goals and three assists. He's a solid puck-moving defenseman with decent offensive upside who will be somewhere around the No.8 D-man in the Blue Jackets' system.
