Winnipeg has signed Haydn Fleury to a one-year, two-way contract.

Winnipeg strengthened up its defensive unit once more on Wednesday as it signed 28-year-old defenseman Haydn Fleury to a one-year, two-way contract. Fleury was drafted seventh overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and has 10 goals and 37 points in 268 career games across seven seasons. In 2023-24, he had a goal, five points and a +5 plus/minus in 24 games played.

Fleury will be a healthy scratch on Monday vs. Detroit.

Cernak will return to Tampa Bay's blueline on Monday after being held out of the last contest for missing a team meeting. Fleury entered the lineup on Saturday as Cernak's replacement, playing 16:27 time-on-ice, but will return to the sidelines as a healthy scratch on Monday.

The 27-year-old defensemen returns to the Lightning for the second time this season, where he has an assist, and a +1 plus/minus in two games played while averaging only 11:23 TOI.
