Shinkaruk has been a healthy scratch for the last three games and with Johnny Gaudreau returning on Sunday, Shinkaruk returns to Stockton. The 22-year-old has four goals and three assists (seven points) in seven games with Stockton.
Shinkaruk, 21, was the 24th overall in the 2013 NHL draft, but has spent just two seasons with the Canucks organization. He played just one game with Vancouver, and 119 with Utica (AHL). The 5-foot-11, 180 lbs. winger has 21 goals and 18 assists (39 points) in 45 AHL games this season. He will report to the Stockton Heat.
Shinkaruk played 9:35 TOI in his NHL debut on Monday. The Canucks wanted to get heavier for Wednesday’s game in Winnipeg so they swapped Shinkaruk for Alexandre Grenier.
Shinkaruk, 21, was the Canucks’ first round pick (24th overall) in the 2013 draft and will make his NHL debut tonight in Montreal. He registered an impressive 10 goals and three assists (13 points) in 12 games before being called up.
