

Solovyov made his NHL debut last season, scoring three points (0G / 3A) in 10 games with the Flames but has primarily been an AHL player in his young professional career. The 24-year-old defenseman has 21 points (6G / 15A) in 41 games with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) this season.

Nikita Okhotiuk will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday, allowing Solovyov to re-enter the lineup. Solovyov has two points (0G / 2A), 11 hits, and 13 blocks in eight games this season.

Solovyov will take a seat on Friday as the Flames look to get some fresh legs into their lineup for the tail-end of their back-to-back. Nikita Okhotiuk will draw into the lineup in his place.

Solovyov was the seventh-round pick of the Flames in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and made his NHL debut earlier this season, playing six games. The 23-year-old defenseman has spent most of the 2023-24 campaign with the Calgary Wranglers (AHL), scoring 14 points (5G / 9A) in 50 games.


Solovyov will sit in favour of Nick DeSimone on Tuesday night. Solovyov has zero goals and two assists in six games this season.

Solovyov hasn't played since consecutive games on October 26th and 29th, his only two career NHL games, but will return to the Flames lineup on Tuesday as Dennis Gilbert will be a healthy scratch. In two games, Solovyov averaged 16:35 time-on-ice, had one block, and two hits.

Solovyov has been recalled from the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL, likely to add some depth to their defensive core after Nikita Zadorov was traded yesterday to the Vancouver Canucks. The 23-year-old Solovyov was drafted 205th overall by the Flames in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and has five points (2G / 3A), a +5 plus/minus rating, and 12 penalty minutes in 16 games with the Wranglers this season.

Solovyov had two PIMs, one SOG, and a -3 plus/minus in his first two career games with the Flames but has been reassigned to the Calgary Wranglers (AHL) on Monday. The 23-year-old defenseman returns to the Wranglers, where he had a goal, an assist, and two PIMs in four games prior to his promotion. Solovyov heads down due to Rasmus Andersson returning from a four-game suspension.
