The Flames have signed Jake Bean to a two-year deal worth $3.5 million ($1.75M AAV).

Jake Bean will join his third team in six NHL seasons on Monday as he signed a two-year deal worth $3.5 million ($1.75M AAV) with Calgary. The 26-year-old appeared in 72 games for Columbus in 2023-24 and had four goals, 13 points, 32 PIms and a -10 plus/minus.

Bean exited Thursday's 4-2 loss to the New York Islanders after playing 13:49 time-on-ice and will miss the remainder of the season. The 25-year-old Bean ends the season with 13 points (4G / 9A), 76 shots, and 110 blocks in 72 games.

The Blue Jackets shipped out Seth Jones but brought in two young defensemen in Adam Boqvist (from Chicago) and Bean to bolster their blueline. Bean was the No.13 overall pick in 2016 and had 12 points (1G / 11A) in 42 games in his first full NHL season in 2020-21. Bean will battle with Vladislav Gavrikov for playing time on the left-side behind Zach Werenski.
