Tonight will be Kindl’s first playoff game of the season. He has five points (1G / 4A) in 18 career NHL play off games. After serving as a healthy scratch in the first six games of the series, he will get in tonight because Marek Zidlicky is out with a concussion.

Kindl missed the last two games before the break with a sprained MCL. His knee has not healed enough for him to return to the Red Wings lineup on Wednesday or Thursday. The Red Wings have recalled Ryan Sproul as their seventh defenseman. Look for Kindl to return next Tuesday vs. the Devils.
Kindl will be replaced by Brendan Smith in the remaining two games and should be 100 per cent following the two-week break.
