With Alex Nedeljkovic returning from tending to a personal matter, the Sharks have reassigned Skarek back to the Barracuda (AHL). The Czech goaltender made his NHL debut in 2024-25 with the Islanders, but struggled with a 0-1-0 record, .872 SV% and 3.94 GAA. He has a 3.63 GAA and .875 SV% in six games (4-2-0) with the Barracuda this season.

San Jose added to their goaltending depth on Thursday after adding 25-year-old netminder Jakub Skarek on a one-year, two-way contract. The Czech goaltender made his NHL debut in 2024-25 with the Islanders, but struggled with a 0-1-0 record, .872 SV% and 3.94 GAA. He is expected to start the 2025-26 season with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL).

Skarek has been recalled from Bridgeport (AHL).

With Marcus Hogberg (upper body) being placed on Injured Reserve, the New York has recalled Skarek from the Bridgeport Islanders (AHL). The 25-year-old Skarek was the 72nd overall pick of the Islanders in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. The 25-year-old Czech goalie has a 3.22 GAA and .895 SV% in 20 appearances with Bridgeport this season (5-11-1).

The New York Islanders have signed Jakub Skarek to a two-year, two-way contract.

Skarek was 15-16-3 with a .892 SV% and 3.37 GAA in 2022-23 with Bridgeport (AHL) and has signed a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Islanders. The 23-year-old goaltender was selected by the Islanders in the third-round of the 2018 Draft (72nd overall) and has yet to make his NHL debut after four seasons in the AHL.
