McCann was forced to leave Saturday’s game in Washington with a lower-body injury and likely will not play on Tuesday. McCann has had a really nice start to 2017-18, posting a two goals and three assists (five points) in seven games. If McCann can’t play, look for Denis Malgin to draw in as the third line centre.
McCann played with Nick Bjugstad and Jaromir Jagr last night and finds himself in the AHL today. The 20-year-old has seven points (1G / 6A) in 29 games with the Panthers and six points (4G / 2A) in 15 games with Springfield.
McCann has split his season between the NHL and AHL. McCann had three points (1G / 2A) in 17 games with the Panthers before being sent down, where he collected four goals and two assists (six points) in 15 games with the Thunderbirds. He has been recalled because SethGriffith is out with a concussion and is expected to play on Friday.
McCann was a healthy scratch on Friday in St. Louis, but will replace Derek Dorsett in the lineup tonight. McCann has just one goal and five assists (six points) in his last 31 games and just 16 points (8G / 8A) in 63 games this season.
McCann will centre the Canucks top line between Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen on Tuesday. The 19-year-old has 12 points (7G / 5A) in 41 games this season and makes for a decent DraftKings value option given his recent promotion.
