Jagr missed Monday’s practice with an illness and that will keep him out of the lineup tonight vs. the Islanders. With Jagr out, the Panthers have recalled Rocco Grimaldi and he is expected to be in the lineup tonight. Consider Jagr as day-to-day.
Jagr missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but he will be back in the lineup on Thursday in Anaheim. The 43-year-old has had a great start to the season, posting 10 points (6G / 4A) in nine games this season.
Jagr missed the Panthers’ back-to-back on the weekend, but he was back at practice on Monday which is a good sign that the veteran winger will be available for Wednesday’s game in Anaheim.
Jagr practiced on Thursday and took part in the morning skate, but he was constantly visiting with the trainers and will ultimately be held out of tonight’s game vs. the Bruins. With Jagr out, Logan Shaw will make his NHL debut and Jussi Jokinen is expected to play on the top line.

Jagr left Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return. However, this morning the Panthers said that Jagr could have returned if they needed him to. He will be evaluated on Wednesday and Thursday and could be in the lineup on Friday vs. the Bruins.
Jagr, 43, was acquired from New Jersey via trade on February 26th. In 20 games with the Panthers he tallied six goals and 12 assists (18 points). He looked much better in the Sunshine State than he did in New Jersey, so he will come back for his 21st NHL season in 2015-16.
After being acquired from New Jersey yesterday, Jaromir Jagr has reputedly passed his physical and is cleared to play on Saturday vs. the Sabres. We won’t know who his line mates will be until tomorrow, but the 43-year-old will suit up for his eighth NHL franchise on Saturday.
Jagr had made it well known that he wanted out of New Jersey. The Panthers have made it clear that they are going for it this season by adding the veteran forward. Even at 43-years-old, Jagr is a more than capable scorer that should see time in the Panthers top-6. Jagr has 11 goals and 18 assists (29 points) in 57 games this season.
Jagr was a full participant in practice on Tuesday and is expected to play tomorrow vs. Toronto after middling the last three games with an illness. Monitor his status during the pre-game skate.
The Devils are in San Jose on Monday and Jagr is reportedly feeling better, but he has yet to resume skating since getting sick, so he will miss his third consecutive game.
Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said Jagr is “quite sick” and the chances of him playing on the road-trip are “not very good." With Jagr out, Steve Bernier will skate on the Devils top-line with Scott Gomez and Adam Henrique.
Jagr missed another practice on Monday and the Devils are not sure if Jagr will travel with the team on Tuesday because he is under the weather.
Jagr left Tuesday’s game after being crushed by Robert Bortuzzo (who was suspended two games for the hit), but Lou Lamoriello said that Jagr does not have a concussion, will miss tonight’s game due to the flu. He is day-to-day.
Jagr was crushed by Robert Bortuzzo in Tuesday’s loss to the Penguins. Jagr suffered what appeared to be a head injury on the play and retired to the dressing room for the night. Bortuzzo will have a hearing for the hit, however no penalty was called on the play. There was no update on Jagr following the game.
The Devils did not release terms of the contract. Jagr said it was a one-year deal. The contract is believed to be worth $6 million US with incentives. Jagr was the Devils' leading scorer this, finishing with 24 goals and 43 assists for 67 points.
Jagr did not skate very much during the preseason because of a sore hip and back, but he is good to go for the Devils season opener on Thursday. He will start on their second line as well as their first power-play unit.
Jagr was practicing on the Devils fifth line this morning, but was also working on the power-play so it remains to be seen if he will play on Thursday.
Jagr will be good to go for the Devils' season opener on October 3rd. Even at 41, he still has the ability to score 25 goals this season.
