The Ducks have recalled Jason LaBarbera from Norfolk (AHL).

LaBarbera’s recall likely means that he will be John Gibson’s backup tonight because Frederik Andersen is not quite ready to play. With Ilya Bryzgalov on waivers, LaBarbera was the next option. He is 7-10-4 with a 2.42 GAA and .917 SV% in Norfolk this season.

LaBarebera has cleared waivers and been assigned to Norfolk (AHL).

LaBarbera’s run with the Ducks is over now that Ilya Bryzgalov is ready to resume his NHL career. The only way LaBarbera will be back is if either Bryz or Frederik Andersen gets injured and the Ducks elect to recall LaBarbera instead of John Gibson (when healthy).

The Ducks placed Jason LaBarbera on waivers.

LaBarbera has not played since returning from a hand injury, so he has been placed on waivers with the intent of sending him to the AHL. Ilya Bryzgalov has been recalled from his conditioning stint, effectively ending LaBarbera’s run with the Ducks.

LaBarbera (hand) was activated from IR on Thursday.

LaBarbera has been out since November 29th, but will be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Oilers. There is no word whether he or Frederik Andersen will get the call, but with a back-to-back and tonight being the easier of the two match ups, don’t be surprised to see LaBarbera.

LaBarbera will miss 2-3 weeks with a broken bone in his hand.

There is no word on how LaBarbera suffered the injury, but it happened on Saturday vs. the Sharks. With LaBarbera out and John Gibson still on IR, the Ducks have brought in Ilya Bryzgalov on a tryout.

LaBarbera is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

LaBarbera must have suffered the injury in Saturday’s game against the Sharks. He had stopped all 15 shots that he faced after replacing Frederik Andersen. The Ducks are taking on the Bruins tomorrow, so expected Andersen to get the nod and for Igor Bobkov to be recalled to back him up.

LaBarbera leads the Ducks onto the ice for warmups.

LaBarbera stopped 16 of 18 shots in a win over the Avalanche on Sunday. It was a completely random start for him and tonight he was not expected to start either. He faces a solid Islanders team and it likely to late to even consider him for a spot-start.

LaBarbera has been recalled to back-up Frederik Andersen over the weekend with John Gibson going back to the AHL for a two-game stint. LaBarbera likely won't see any action unless Andersen struggles and gets pulled. This is just a temporary move to get Gibson some crease time.

After being acquired from the Oilers, LaBarbera was 15-15-2 with a 2.94 GAA and .901 SV% with the Blackhawks AHL affiliate in Rockford. He joins a deep group of good goaltenders in Anaheim and will not hold any fantasy value.
