Jesper Bratt News
The Devils have signed Jesper Bratt to an eight-year contract worth $63.0 million ($7.875M AAV).

Bratt was a pending RFA but signed an eight-year deal that will keep him in New Jersey through the 2031 season. Bratt has posted back-to-back 73-point seasons, but 2023 was the first time he eclipsed the 30-goal mark (32). Over those two seasons, Bratt is tied for 44th in the NHL in points (146) and 49th in goals (58).

Bratt (upper-body) is expected to be back in the Devils lineup on Thursday.

Bratt has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but is expected to play Thursday in Pittsburgh. Bratt will return to the Devils' top-6 and will skate with Nico Hischier and Pavel Zacha. Prior to getting hurt, Bratt had six goals and 13 assists (19 points) in his last 16 games.

The Devils have added Jesper Bratt to the active roster.

Bratt has cleared COVID-19 protocol and has been added to the added roster, which clears the way for him to make his season debut on Thursday. It seems likely that Bratt will replace Nick Merkley in the lineup since Merkley was sent to the taxi squad in a subsequent move. Bratt has three straight seasons of 30-plus points, scoring a career-high 16 goals with 16 assists (32 points) in 60 games last year.

The Devils have signed Jesper Bratt to a two-year contract worth $5.5 million ($2.75M AAV).

Bratt was the Devils' last remaining unsigned RFA but got a two-year deal on Sunday night. Bratt set a new career-high in goals (16) while adding 16 assists (32 points) in 60 games a season ago. Bratt will miss the start of the regular season but is expected to be in the Devils top-6 when he makes his debut.

Bratt (upper-body) will not play Tuesday; could join the team later on the road-trip.

Bratt worked out off ice on Monday and will not travel to Winnipeg for Tuesday's game. It is the start of a four-game western Canadian road-trip for the Devils, so they haven't ruled out the possibility of Brett joining them later in the trip. Nikita Gusev will replace him on Tuesday.
