A bug appears to be going around the Devils room, Pavel Zacha missed their last game with a non-COVID illness and now it looks like Vesey may not be available on Sunday. He missed Saturday's practice, so monitor his status as the Devils hit the ice for warmups at 12:30 PM ET.

Vesey was scheduled to be in the Devils lineup on Wednesday but will be scratched after testing positive for COVID-19.

Vesey went into Devils training camp on a PTO and came out with a one-year deal after scoring two goals in three preseason games. Most recently, Vesey was in Vancouver, where he had just three assists in 20 games in 2021.

Vesey has missed the last three games but will play against the Islanders. Vesey will replace Evan Rodrigues on the Sabres' third-line and comes in with just two assists in 11 games this season.

This is a lot earlier than expected. Vesey was originally listed as week-to-week but is hopeful he'll play Saturday vs. the Islanders. Vesey recorded just two assists in his first 11 games with the Sabres.

Vesey played just 6:08 last year before leaving the contest. Vesey is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, which suggests that he won’t play in Detroit on Friday. Expect Evan Rodrigues to replace him in the lineup.

Vesey has seen his playing time decrease recently and will be a healthy scratch on Wednesday after playing a season-low 9:56 TOI on Monday. Filip Chytil will replace him in the lineup.

Vesey will miss his second straight straight game with a concussion but he skated this morning and is progressing according to Alain Vigneault. Vesey does not have a timetable for his return, so monitor his status as the week progresses.
