MacDonald being sent down suggests that Carey Price is ready to go for Tuesday’s game against the Predators.
MacDonald has gone 6-7-3 with a 2.96 GAA and .902 SV%. He has been recalled because Carey Price is day-to-day with an upper-body, so expect MacDonald to serve as Dustin Tokarski’s backup on Saturday.
MacDonald served as Carey Price’s back-up in the Canadiens win over the Senators on Saturday. Montreal is off until Tuesday, so either MacDonald or Dustin Tokarski will be recalled to serve as Price’s backup vs. the Islanders.
MacDonald is expected to backup Carey Price this weekend with Dustin Tokarski being sent down for conditioning stint. MacDonald is 6-4-3 with a 2.80 GAA and .906 SV% with Hamilton this season.
MacDonald allowed two goals on nine shots in relief of Joni Ortio on March 21st. He will get the start tonight in the second game of a back-to-back set for the Flames. They were victorious last night over the Lightning, and draw a strong matchup tonight vs. the Panthers. MacDonald has gone 4-4-1 with a 3.16 GAA and .881 SV% this season.
MacDonald is 3-3-1 with a 3.17 GAA and .885 SV% with the Flames this season. While in the AHL he is 5-10-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .909 SV%. He draws a tough matchup vs. the Stars who have won three games in a row while scoring 13 goals (4.33 G/PG).

MacDonald is 3-3-1 with a 3.16 GAA and .885 SV% this season. It would not be surprising if a team with goalie trouble (ex. NSH) claims MacDonald.
MacDonald allowed three goals on 32 shots in a loss to the Coyotes on October 22nd. He will take on his former team, the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. It is a tough matchup for MacDonald, so I would look elsewhere on a busy Friday around the league.
MacDonald allowed three goals on 22 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Ducks on Wednesday. He will have a decent chance to chalk up his fourth win on Tuesday vs. Phoenix.
MacDonald will make his fifth straight start tomorrow in Anaheim. He has won each of his last two starts (vs. Montreal and New Jersey) with a 2.00 GAA and .929 SV%. The matchup with the Ducks is a tough one.
MacDonald gave up two goals on 35 shots in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Habs. It appears as if MacDonald has topped Karri Ramo for the starting job… At least for the present. He will go head-to-head with Martin Brodeur tomorrow and if the Flames continue to play well, their goalies might become somewhat valuable.
This is a bit surprising after MacDonald gave up five goals on 28 shots in the 5-4 OT loss to the Canucks on Sunday. He is now 1-0-1 with a 3.94 GAA and .867 SV%. He will face the 1-1-0 Montreal Canadiens who have scored seven goals in their first two contests.
Karri Ramo was expected to see the majority of the starts this season but while he struggled a bit in the first game, MacDonald did enough to get the win on Friday night. He allowed three goals on 32 shots (.906 SV%) in the 4-3 win over Columbus. MacDonald will face a tougher test with the Canucks tomorrow.
MacDonald went 8-9-1 with a 2.87 GAA and .902 SV% as a part-time starter / backup for the Flames last season. With a back-to-back yesterday and today, MacDonald will get his first start of the season tonight. The way the Flames defense looked last night, it would be hard to trust Joey Mac

No farewell for Miikkaa Kiprusoff tonight as MacDonald will start for the Flames. I don't think his numbers are really necessary. The Flames are bad, the Blackhawks are really good. It could not be more black-and-white, don't start MacDonald. If you think they can pull out a miraculous win that can win you the championship by starting MacDonald, then more power to you!
MacDonald allowed just one goal on 35 shots in a win over the Wild on Sunday. He has won four out of his last five starts, but he has a tough matchup vs. the Blues tonight. Not someone you can trust at this point in the season.
MacDonald is expected to start the remainder of the season with Kipper likely retiring.
MacDonald has been a serviceable backup to Kiprusoff and is being rewarded as such. MacDonald is, however, an unreliable fantasy goaltender.
