Albert only suited up for one game during his most recent call-up. He was injured in that game and with Jim Slater ready to return, Albert returns to the AHL.
Albert was hurt in Monday's loss to the Avalanche after playing just 2:06. He was recalled from St. John's over the weekend and Monday was his first game back in the NHL. He will sit out tonight while Eric O'Dell takes his spot, but the injury is not serious and he is listed as day-to-day.
Albert is having a strong season with a the IceCaps (AHL) and has recently been red-hot. He has totalled 17 goals and 16 assists (33 points) in 51 games with St. John's. In eight games with the Jets this season he has one goal. He has been recalled to fill the void at centre left by the Mark Scheifele.
Not to be mistaken for the UFC fighter, Albert has spent the last two seasons and 23 games this season with the St. John's IceCaps. In 111 games he has recorded 15 goals and 25 assists (40 points). Albert describes himself as a two-way forward who works hard in the dirty areas of the ice. He is not a fantasy relevant player but the Ohio State product will provide some energy and forward depth in limited minutes with the Jets.
