Carlson (upper-body) took full part in warmups and is expected to play against the Kings on Monday.

Carlson did not play in Washington's most recent game, but will return to the lineup on Monday against the Los Angels Kings. The 35-year-old Carlsson is off to his best start in recent years, scoring 14 points (4G / 10A) through 17 games.

Carlson last played for the Capitals' on December 23rd and is expected to return to Washington's lineup Thursday vs. Philadelphia due to a head injury. The 33-year-old had eight goals, 13 assists, 101 SOG, six PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through 30 games prior to his injury

Carlson (face) returned to the ice in a non-contact jersey on Wednesday.

Carlson has not played since December 23rd and does not have a timetable for his return. Getting back on the ice on Wednesday was the next step for the 33-year-old, who may not play again this season. Depending on where the Capitals are situated in the playoff race, will likely determine whether or not Carlson suits up again.

Carlson is out indefinitely after taking a puck to the face on Friday.

Carlson was taken to the hospital for "precautionary" reasons and was later discharged but the Capitals announced that the blueliner in out indefinitely. Erik Gustafsson will continue to play a large role at 5v5 and on the top power-play unit in Carlson's absence.
