John Gibson News
Gibson (lower-body) was the first goalie off of the ice at the Ducks morning skate.

Gibson stopped all 25 shots that he faced before leaving the Ducks win in Boston on January 30th with a lower-body injury. Gibson went on to miss the last four games, but is expected to start tonight vs. the Oilers. Gibson will be returning against an Oilers team that is still trying to keep their season alive—he stopped 33 of 34 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to Edmonton on January 4th.

Gibson (lower-body) was a full participant in Thursday’s practice but his status for Friday’s game is unclear.

Gibson took part in full practice on Thursday but the Ducks were very tight lipped about whether or not he will be available for Friday’s contest. “I can’t really talk about it,” Gibson told reporters and head coach Randy Carlyle rarely divulges any goaltender information. Monitor his status during Friday’s morning skate, but it looks like Ryan Miller might make a fifth straight start.

Gibson (lower-body) is not expected to dress for Thursday’s game.

Gibson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury so Ryan Miller will start in Ottawa and Reto Berra has been recalled from San Diego (AHL) to serve as his backup. The Ducks have not placed Gibson on IR, which suggests that it probably isn’t too serious and he could be back at for one of the next two games.

Gibson missed Wednesday’s practice and is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Gibson was forced to leave Tuesday’s game with under eight minutes left after being drilled by a Patrice Bergeron shot. The two injures are reportedly unrelated but his absence on Wednesday makes him questionable for Thursday’s game in Ottawa. Gibson was great yesterday, stopping all 25 shots that he faced before having to leave, so they’ll want him in the crease tomorrow.
