In his first start against the Penguins, he stopped 23 of 24 shots in a 2-1 win. Gibson has gone 4-2-1 with a 1.96 GAA and .918 SV% on the road this season.

Gibson allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Ducks loss to the Kings on Sunday. Gibson has gone 2-3-0 with a 2.54 GAA and .902 SV% in his last five starts. While January hasn’t been kind to Gibson, this is a nice matchup for the 22-year-old. The Wild have lost four in a row and are 2-5-2 while averaging 1.56 goals per game this month.

He draws a difficult matchup against a Red Wings team that has won the first three games of their current six-game road trip.

Gibson suffered a lower-body injury after colliding with Nazem Kadri on Wednesday, but he was back on the ice for practice on Thursday and head coach Bruce Boudreau said he is 100 percent and could start on Friday.

The 22-year-old was chosen as an NHL All Star on Wednesday and tonight he draws a strong matchup vs. the Maple Leafs on home ice.

Gibson has posted back-to-back shutouts, stopping all 35 shots that he’s faced and has won three consecutive. Frederik Andersen got the call on Friday, but they’ll go back to Gibson vs. the Jets—Winnipeg has won three of their last four.

Gibson stopped all 14 shots that he faced in the Ducks shutout win over the Flames on Tuesday. It was Gibson’s second straight win and sixth since being called up. Gibson has posted a strong 1.81 GAA and .926 SV% this season, but he still needs more help from his offence if he is going to continue to win hockey games.

Gibson allowed one goal on 19 shots after replacing Frederik Andersen in Monday’s loss in Brooklyn. The Ducks will wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule with a back-to-back tonight in New York. Gibson is 4-4-1 on the year but 0-2-0 with a 2.68 GAA and .905 SV% on the road this season. He is a great young goalie, but the lack of Ducks’ scoring will limit the amount of wins he collects.
