Jonas Johansson News
Johansson will start in Columbus on Thursday.

Johansson will somewhat surprisingly make his third start of the season when the Lightning travel to Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets on Thursday. It's the first appearance for Johansson since he surrendered five goals on 32 shots in a 7-4 loss to the Jets on November 3rd. He draws a decent matchup on Thursday with Lightning entering action as -160 road favourites.

Johansson will start on Tuesday in New Jersey.

Despite entering last night's 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in relief of Andrei Vasilevskiy, Johansson will start between the pipes on Tuesday night against the New Jersey Devils. The 29-year-old Johansson saved 14 of 15 shots (.933 SV%) in yesterday's relief appearance, his first action of the season. Tampa Bay enters Tuesday night's contest against the New Jersey Devils as +136 road underdogs.

Jonas Johansson
Johansson (lower body) is considered day-to-day and expected to be out on Monday vs. Detroit.

Johansson is battling a lower-body injury, making his status uncertain for Monday's contest against the Detroit Red Wings. That said, Johansson has only played once in the last 13 games and was unlikely to see any immediate action between the pipes.

Johansson will start on Long Island on Thursday.

The Lightning will turn to Johansson on Thursday for the tail-end of their back-to-back after starter Andrei Vasilevskiy got the nod against the Rangers on Wednesday. Johansson has not appeared in a game since January 20th, when he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced enroute to a 3-1 victory over the Sabres. It was one of the better starts of the season for the 28-year-old netminder, who owns an .894 SV% and a 3.34 GAA across 22 games with the Lightning.

Johansson will start in Nashville on Thursday.

Johansson will start the tail-end of Tampa Bay's back-to-back after Andrei Vasilevskiy picked up the 3-1 win over the Penguins on Wednesday. It's Johansson's first start since November 28th, when he surrendered three goals on 27 shots enroute to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Coyotes. The 28-year-old netminder owns a .892 SV% and a 8-5-5 record on the season. He'll have his hands full on Thursday facing a Predators team fresh off back-to-back victories.

Jonas Johansson will start Tuesday in Arizona.

Johansson has been a workhorse to start the season and will tie Alexandar Georgiev for the league lead with his 18th start on Tuesday. That said, Johansson's workload is about to take a major decline as the Tampa Bay Lightning welcomed back All-Star goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy last week. Apart from back-to-backs and the occasional rest for Vasilevskiy, Johansson is unlikely to see much playing time moving forward. Johansson helped secure at least a point for his team in his last four games (3-0-1) but allowed 13 goals on 116 shots in that span (.888 SV%). Even so, Tampa Bay is a -116 road favourite against an Arizona Coyotes team that has lost three of their last four (1-3-0).

Jonas Johansson
Johansson will start against the Jets on Wednesday.

Johansson has been abysmal lately, but due to a lack of options between the pipes for the Lightning and his ability to still secure victories will likely start again on Wednesday. Johansson has allowed four or more goals in eight of his last nine outings, posting a wretched .867 SV%, but has still salvaged a winning 4-3-2 record. Tampa Bay has even -105 betting odds on Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets, who have been scoring at an impressive clip, tallying at least five goals in five of their last seven games (6-1-0).

Johansson will start against the Bruins on Monday.

The Lightning's interim starting netminder will make his sixth consecutive start on Monday as Tampa plays host to the Bruins. Johansson was busy in his last appearance, stopping 39 of the 43 shots on Saturday enroute to a 6-4 victory over the Oilers. Johansson has been inconsistent at best this season, with an .896 SV% and a 3.40 GAA to show for it. He draws a difficult matchup on home ice tonight with the Lightning being +120 underdogs to the Bruins.

Jonas Johansson will start Saturday vs. Edmonton.

Johansson will start his fifth-straight contest Saturday after winning his last start in a 12-save effort (.857 SV%) over Chicago. The 28-year-old has struggled while trying to hold down the fort in Andrei Vasilevskiy's absence (injury), with his 6-4-4 record, .895 SV%, and 3.36 GAA. He takes on the Edmonton Oilers for a matinee matchup, who have won three-straight and are fifth in the NHL in shots per game (33.8).

Johansson will start in Chicago on Thursday.

As the Tampa Bay Lightning eagerly await the return of their All-Star goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, Johansson will attempt to stop the bleeding on a miserable stretch for the team. Johansson has played very poorly in his last four outings (0-3-1), registering an ugly .846 SV% in the process. In addition to receiving less-than-ideal goaltending, the Lightning have been shut out in back-to-back games. That said, the Lightning are still -179 road favourites against a Chicago Blackhawks team that defeated them 5-3 exactly one week ago.

Jonas Johansson will start Tuesday vs. St. Louis.

With Andrei Vasilevskiy nearing his return, Johansson's reign as the starting goalie for the Lightning seems to be coming to an end, and not a second too early, as the Swedish goaltender has struggled lately. In his last five games (1-2-2), Johansson has allowed at least four goals in each and posted an ugly .861 SV%. The Lightning are -123 favourites on Tuesday but are facing a St. Louis Blues team that has outscored their opposition 10-3 during a two-game winning streak.

Johansson will start Thursday's game against Chicago.

Johansson will return to the crease on Thursday after watching Matt Tomkins tend the twine on Tuesday. Johansson has done an admirable job filling in for Andrei Vasilevskiy but after recording consecutive shutouts, has struggled of late, allowing at least four goals in each of his last three games (1-0-2), posting a .867 SV%. That said, the Lightning have a favourable matchup as -229 home favourites against a Chicago Blackhawks team that scores the third-fewest goals in the league (2.36 GF / GP).
