The GM also added that they’re not ready “to throw the kitchen sink” at team’s goaltending problems, which means that they should continue to roll with Peter Budaj and Jeff Zatkoff in net.
Quick will undergo a non-surgical procedure, but will about three months with a groin injury according to GM Dean Lombardi. The Kings will likely bring a goalie in from another team because Jeff Zatkoff proved he is not the answer in his two starts since Quick got injured.
The Kings did not release much information on Quick’s injury, other than to say that it was of the lower-body variety and that he is week-to-week. With Quick sidelined for an unknown amount of time, the Kings will turn to the duo of Jeff Zatkoff and Peter Pudaj. Zatkoff will likely start on Friday after stopping 16 of 17 shots in relief on Wednesday.
