Josh Anderson News
Anderson (undisclosed) is good to go Thursday vs. Buffalo after leaving last game early due to injury.

Andersen has been battling an undisclosed injury after playing 15:18 time-on-ice on Tuesday against the Dallas Stars but will not miss any game action as he is expected to play on Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres. Anderson only has six goals through 37 games this season but has six points (5G / 1A) in his last eight.

Anderson (lower-body) is questionable to play Saturday in Winnipeg.

Anderson was hurt in the first period of Thursday's loss in Winnipeg and was not on the ice for Friday's practice. The team called Anderson "day-to-day" and they are "hopeful" that he'll be available on Saturday. If he's not, look for Tyler Toffoli to take his spot on the second line with Nick Suzuki and Jonathan Drouin.

Anderson (illness) will play Monday vs. Vancouver.

Anderson was sent home after the first period of Saturday's loss to the Flames because he was suffering from "flu-like symptoms." Anderson tested negative for COVID-19, so he is eligible to play tonight vs. the Canucks. He was on the ice for the morning skate and will skate in his usual spot with Nick Suzuki and Jonathan Drouin tonight.

The Canadiens have signed Josh Anderson to a seven-year contract worth $38.5 million ($5.5M AAV).

After acquiring Anderson from the Blue Jackets, GM Marc Bergevin inked the rugged winger through the 2027 season. The deal leaves the Canadiens with ≈$5.37M in cap space heading into free agency. Anderson, Shea Weber, Jeff Petry and Carey Price are the only four skaters in Montreal currently signed through the 2024 season.

The Canadiens have acquired Josh Anderson from the Blue Jackets for Max Domi and a 2020 third-round pick (No.78 overall).

Anderson dealt with shoulder issues all throughout 2020, limiting him to just 26 games and four points (1G / 3A). In 2019, Anderson scored a career-high 27 goals with 20 assists (47 points) in 82 games. He was one of three players who had 20-plus goals and 200-plus hits in 2019--Alex Ovechkin and Blake Coleman were the other two, pretty good company. Anderson's rugged style of play is exactly what the Habs were in search of and he will pair nicely on the second line with Nick Suzuki.

The Blue Jackets added Josh Anderson (shoulder) to their 34-man roster on Sunday.

Anderson has not played since December 14th and underwent shoulder surgery in March. Anderson skated on his own on Sunday but has yet to join the team sessions. Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella had "no information at all" on Anderson, so it's unclear whether the power-forward could be ready for the Maple Leafs or any potential series beyond that.
