Archibald has been with the Penguins for the duration of the season but has only appeared in two games, so his assignment to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton will allow him to get some playing time. Archibald had 16 goals and 13 assists (29 points) in 61 AHL games last season.

Archibald is expected to make his season debut, replacing Carl Hagelin in the lineup and playing on the fourth line. The 25-year-old registered three goals in 10 games with the Penguins last season.

Archibald, 24, has recorded 14 goals and 13 assists (27 points) in 57 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. He has two goals in two NHL games this year and could draw into the lineup tonight with Carl Hagelin out for one month.

Archibald appeared in two games during his call-up, but was a heathy scratch for the last two games because Evgeni Malkin returned in the first and Carl Hagelin returned in the second. Archibald has two goals in his season debut, but is on his way back to the AHL.

Archibald, 23, has 14 points (8G / 6A) in 51 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season and is expected to make his NHL debut on Saturday.
