Archibald was on the ice for the pre-game skate but was moved to IR to create a spot on the roster to activate Riley Sheahan (concussion). His move to IR is retroactive so he is eligible to return Thursday in New Jersey.

Archibald missed Saturday’s game vs. the Kings due to illness and is expected to miss his second straight game on Tuesday. Markus Granlund will remain in the Oilers lineup with Archibald out.

Archibald set a career-high with 22 points (12G / 10A) in 68 games with the Coyotes last season. The 26-year-old winger will be a key part of the Oilers fourth line in 2020 but has very little offensive upside.

Archibald will draw in for Mario Kempe for Tuesday’s game in Minnesota. Archibald brings very little offence to the Coyotes table. He had just 11 points (5G / 6A) in 39 games with Arizona last year.

Archibald had no points in three games with the Penguins prior to being acquired via trade earlier this week. There’s no word on who Archibald will replace in the lineup tonight.

Archibald was a sixth round pick in 2011 and has scored three goals in 14 career NHL games. The 25-year-old winger will report to the Coyotes.
