Ellerby will make his Jets debut tonight vs. the Red Wings.

Ellerby was claimed off of waivers from Los Angeles on Saturday. The former 10th overall pick in 2007 has played 160 NHL regular season games with the Florida Panthers and the Kings. Ellerby has just two goals and 18 assists (20 points) in those 160 games- he isn't a fantasy worthy defenseman. He will be paired with Adam Pardy tonight.

Ellerby is expected to play this week, either Monday at Tampa Bay or Tuesday in Washington. He says he'll be ready – and won't have any rust.

Ellerby is still looking to make his 2011-2012 debut. Last season he played in 54 games, registering two goals and 12 points with a minus-15 rating. He projects to be a stay-at-home defender which could help out his starting goalie.
