Kinkaid will start Friday vs. the Senators.

Kinkaid will make his second start of the season tonight vs. the Sharks and comes in at 2-0-0 and has stopped 38 of 40 shots (.950 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he faces a Sharks team that is 2-3-0 while averaging just 2.60 goals for per game.

Cory Schneider started the first four games of the season, including last night, but Kinkaid will make his season debut tonight vs. the Rangers. Last season the 28-year-old has gone 8-13-3 with a 2.64 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout in 23 starts and three relief appearances in 2016-17. He is a decent spot-start option vs. a Rangers team that has started the season 1-4-0.

The Devils re-signed Keith Kinkaid to a two-year extension worth $2.5M ($1.25M AAV).

Kinkaid just finished his third season as the Devils backup and appeared in a career-high 26 games, going 8-13-3 with a 2.64 GAA and a .916 SV%. The Devils could have promoted Scott Wedgewood this fall, but Kinkaid looks like Cory Schneider’s primary backup in 2017-18.

Kinkaid allowed five goals on 42 shots in the Devils’ loss in Pittsburgh last Friday. Kinkaid has been seeing more playing time as of late and will go again tonight in Toronto. The 27-year-old has gone 6-6-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .932 SV% on the road this season and will be in tough against a high-scoring Leafs squad.
