Colorado has signed Kevin Mandolese to a one-year, two-way contract.

Mandolese was acquired just a day before alongside a 2025 7th round pick from Ottawa for a 2025 6th round pick and has now signed a one-year, two-way contract to stay in Colorado. The 23-year-old goaltender appeared in 23 games for Belleville (AHL) in 2023-24 and had a 3.53 GAA to go alongside his .918 SV%.

The 23-year-old appeared in three NHL games with Ottawa in 2022-23 but spent the majority of the 2023-24 season with Belleville (AHL) picking up a 3.07 GAA and .901 SV%.

Mandolese was 1-2-0 with a 3.29 GAA and .916 SV% with Ottawa in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension ($775,000 AAV). The 22-year-old netminder was drafted in the sixth-round of the 2018 draft (157th overall) and made his NHL debut in 2022-23 after playing in both the AHL and ECHL in the same season.

He faces an incredibly tough challenge in the Boston Bruins Monday, who have the best record in the NHL and have won their last three games after a 6-2 win over the Islanders last game.

Mandolese has been recalled to his third level this season after seeing time early with the Allen Americans (ECHL) and then moving up to the Belleville Senators (AHL) before receiving his promotion to the Senators Thursday. The 22-year-old netminder struggled in Belleville, with his 4-6-2 record, .886 SV% and 3.39 GAA but got the call-up due to Cam Talbot leaving Wednesday's game with a lower-body injury.

Mandolese was a sixth-round pick (No. 157 overall) of the Senators in 2018. In his fourth year in the QMJHL, the 19-year-old netminder went 26-8-1 with a league-best .925 SV% and third-best GAA (2.33). With 86 career wins to-date, Mandolese sits second all-time in Screaming Eagles franchise history.
