Kristians Rubins has been traded to the Calgary Flames for future considerations.

Rubins has two goals, four assists, 25 PIMs and a -4 plus/minus through 42 games with the Belleville Senators (AHL) but has been traded to Calgary for future considerations Friday. The 25-year-old Latvian has previously played in three NHL games, failing to pick up a point and collecting four PIMs.

The Senators have signed Kristians Rubins to a one-year, two-way contract.

Rubins spent the first four years of his career with the Maple Leafs but moves to their Ontario rival on a one-year deal with the Senators. He played in his first three career NHL games a season ago but will likely be an AHL player in 2022-23. He had 11 points (1G / 10A) in 58 games with the Toronto Marlies last year.

Rubīns has been recalled from Toronto (AHL) and is expected to make his NHL debut on Tuesday.

Rubīns has one goal and three assists (four points) in 16 games with the Marlies this season. the 6-foot-5, 221 lbs. defenseman will replace Rasmus Sandin, who went on IR with a lower-body injury.

The Maple Leafs signed Kristians Rubins to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Rubins was an undrafted free agent out of the WHL, who has spent the last two season in the Maple Leafs farm system. He earned himself an NHL-level contract by tallying 14 points (2G / 12A) in 47 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) in 2019-20.
