Baun was an undrafted free agent that signed in the NHL after three years at Colgate University. The 25-year-old winger had four goals and 12 assists (16 points) in 54 games in his first season with Laval (AHL).
Baun had no points and a minus-2 rating in two games with the Blackhawks before being sent down in order to make room to recall Vince Hinostroza.
Baun had one shot in 9:23 TOI in the Blackhawks’ season opener but it looks like he will sit in favour of Viktor Tikhonov.
Baun, 22, had 14 goals and 15 assists (29 points) in 38 games at Colgate University this season. After coming over from University puck he served as a healthy scratch for a few games, but will make his NHL debut with Brad Richards out with an upper-body injury.
