Shaw spent a large portion of 2020 with the Jets, registering just five points (3G / 2A) in 35 games. Shaw has produced strong numbers at the AHL-level but has settled in as a fourth-liner in his NHL career. If he starts 2021 in the AHL, he'll likely be one of the first forwards called-up by Ottawa.

With Cody Eakin set to make his Jets debut, Shaw will sit out in Buffalo. Shaw has picked up just one assist in his last nine games.

Shaw was signed to a two-way contract on Sunday and heads to Manitoba to start his Jets career. Shaw was originally with the Ducks on a PTO, picking up five points (2G / 3A) in seven games with San Diego (AHL) before signing in Winnipeg.

Shaw was a healthy scratch in Los Angeles on Saturday and was placed on waivers on Sunday after the Ducks claimed J.T. Brown from the Lightning. Shaw has just two goals and six assists (eight points) in 42 games with the Ducks.

Shaw has registered just five points (2G / 3A) in 43 games with the Ducks this season. During his time in the AHL, Shaw has four goals and two assists (six points) in 15 games with Springfield and San Diego.

Shaw, 23, failed to record a point in one game with the Panthers this season, while in Portland the former third round pick had seven goals and one assist in 13 games.

Shaw failed to record a point in his NHL debut and now returns to Portland where he had two goals in five games before being called up. With Shaw going back to the minors, the Panthers have recalled Garrett Wilson.

Shaw was a quality scorer in his final year in the QMJHL and had 25 points (13G / 12A) in 69 games with the Panthers’ AHL affiliate last year. Shaw had two goals in five games before being called-up.

Shaw, 23, was a third round pick (76th overall) in 2011. He has scored two goals in five games with Portland and could make his NHL debut on Friday with Jaromir Jagr potentially out with a lower-body injury.
