Marc Johnstone has been reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL).

Johnstone made his NHL debut at the age of 27 after an inspirational journey on December 8th but has yet to dress since and was reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) Monday. He returns to the minors, where he earned his first career promotion after putting up five points (2G/3A) and 17 PIMs in 21 games played.

Johnstone is an undrafted 27-year-old forward who has spent parts of the last three seasons in the AHL, between the Toronto Marlies and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, tallying 27 points (11G / 16A) in 94 games. He was recalled from the AHL last week and has played one game, averaging 7:19 time-on-ice and recording two hits.

Johnstone had nine goals, 13 assists, 39 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 69 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a two-year, two-way contract extension ($775,000 AAV) with Pittsburgh. The 27-year-old right-winger has never played in the NHL after being signed out of Sacred Heart University (NCAA) in 2020-21.
