Staal will be a healthy scratch on Thursday vs. New York.

Staal somehow managed an even plus/minus in Philadelphia's 9-3 loss to Montreal on Tuesday but will be the odd man out of the lineup on Thursday as Egor Zamula returns. The 37-year-old veteran defenseman has had a season to forget in his first year in Philadelphia, with a goal and five points, 14 PIMs, 20 SOG and a +2 plus/minus in 35 games played.

Staal has only appeared in one game since March 16th but will make another appearance on Tuesday as he replaced Ronnie Attard vs. Montreal.
