Marco Scandella News
Scandella (upper-body) resumed skating in Minnesota on Tuesday.

Scandella is not with the team on their road-trip and will miss his fourth consecutive game tonight, but he did return to the ice this afternoon, which is positive news heading forward. Expect him to miss Thursday’s game as well, but he could join his teammates for practice when they return home for Saturday’s game vs. Arizona.

The Wild signed Marco Scandella to a five-year, $20 million contract extension on Saturday.

Scandella, 24, stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 217 pounds. Last year, he developed into a horse of a defensive defenseman, one GM Chuck Fletcher called maybe the team’s best Saturday. This year, he has matured into an offensive threat. He is tied for sixth among NHL defensemen with five goals, all of which are go-ahead goals.

Scandella (knee) will be back in the lineup tonight.

Scandella has missed the last three games after suffering a knee injury on February 4. Scandella will join Mikko Koivu as Wild regulars returning to the lineup tonight vs. the Flames. He has three goals and 13 assists (16 points) with a plus-10 rating in in 55 games this season.

The Wild have placed Marco Scandella on injured reserve and recalled goaltender John Curry (AHL).

Scandella missed the last two games after suffering a gruesome looking knee injury on Feb. 4 vs. Tampa Bay. He was lucky he did not suffer a more serious injury, but is not expected to miss too much time. Consider him questionable for Friday vs. Vancouver.
