Marian Gaborik News
Marian Gaborik has begun skating the last few days, but there is still no official timetable for his return.

Gaborik has missed the last 11 games with a sprained knee. His original timetable was four-to-six weeks and he is just over three weeks right now. Expect Gaborik to be out at least one more week, but the fact that he is skating again is an encouraging sign for the Blue Jackets.

Looks like Anisimov with Gaborik and Prospal according to #BlueJackets morning skate.

Gaborik who has traded to the Blue Jackets yesterday will be on their first line tonight with former teammate Artem Anisimov and veteran Vinny Prospal. Gaborik will look to regain his old form after struggling through the first 35 games of the season with the Rangers.

The New York Rangers have traded Marian Gaborik to the Columbus Blue Jackets for Derek Brassard, Derek Dorset, John Moore and a 6th-round pick.

Gaborik is a 7-time 30+ goal-scorer and 3-time 40-goal-scorer. He is struggling this season with just nine goals and 10 assists in 35 games. He goes to a Blue Jackets team where he will be the obvious number-1 scoring option in Columbus. This should help Gaborik's fantasy value because he will be leaned on heavily to produce.

The Rangers are off to a disappointing 0-2 start and it looks like John Tortorella isn't going to wait any longer to put his three big guns together. On paper this looks like the best line in the NHL, and they really should have no problem scoring with all that talent.

Gaborik revealed Friday that he suffered a torn rotator cuff around the start of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and aggravated the injury further in the first-round matchup against Ottawa.

This is why he didn't perform in your playoff pool (11 points in 20 games). Gaborik opted for surgery and could be out for up to 6 months. That means he'll join your fantasy team mid-season and could come at a discount.
