Marian Hossa News
Marian Hossa will miss the 2017-18 season due to a skin disorder.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, Hossa said that he has been undergoing treatment over the last few years for a progressive skin disorder. The medication that he is on comes with “severe side effects” which is why he will not be able to play hockey during the upcoming season. The Blackhawks will move him to the LTIR and get some cap relief when the season starts, but this is a huge blow to their top-6. His absence means that prospect Alex Debrincat, who had a massive 2017 season in the OHL could open the season with the Blackhawks.

The Blackhawks have one game before the Christmas break, so don’t be surprised if Hossa sits out on Friday to give him a full week to recover.
