Jones allowed two goals on 25 shots in the Sharks’ win in Buffalo last Thursday. Aaron Dell started their last contest, so they’ll come back to Jones tonight vs. the Canadiens. Montreal and San Jose have both gotten off to really slow starts, so this could very well be another low-scoring affair.

Jones will start Thursday vs. the Sabres.

Jones was pulled after allowing four goals on 29 shots in the Sharks’ loss to the Kings on Saturday. Jones has given up a combined eight goals on 59 shots (.864 SV%) through his first two starts this season, but the Sharks will give him the chance to work through it tonight vs. the Sabres. Buffalo has opened the season at 0-2-1 while averaging just 2.33 goals for per game.

Jones will start Saturday vs. the Kings.

Jones allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Sharks’ loss to the Flyers on Wednesday. Jones won’t light the world on fire, but he will be a consistent low-end No.1/high-end No.2 throughout the course of the season. Tonight he will take on a Kings team that doesn’t have a lot fire power.

Jones starts the Sharks season opener vs. the Flyers.

Jones has had steady results in his first two years in San Jose, starting 65 games and winning at least 35 of them in both seasons. Last year, Jones’ GAA and SV% took a bit of a hit but were more than serviceable fantasy numbers. The 27-year-old was also very good on home-ice (19-10-4 / 2.16 / .916) so don’t hesitate to roll him out there in a home matchup vs. a Flyers team that was 14-22-5 on the road last year.

The Sharks have signed Martin Jones to a six-year extension worth $34.5M ($5.75M AAV).

It was believed that Jones was capable of being a No.1 NHL netminder and he’s been excellent since being given that opportunity in San Jose. Jones has made 65 starts and won 37 and 35 games in each of his first two seasons with the Sharks and has posted a 2.33 GAA, .915 SV% and eight shutouts in the process. Jones is a solid No.1 fantasy option and should be one of the most trusted netminders in 2017-18.
