This would mean that St. Louis would move back to the middle, likely between Rick Nash and Chris Kreider. However, head coach Alain Vigneault said the lineup has not been finalized. We will likely have to wait until pre-game warmups to determine the lines and scratches.

St. Louis is expected to centre the Rangers top-line with Rick Nash and Chris Kreider while Derick Brassard centres the second line and stays with Mats Zuccarello and J.T Miller and Dominic Moore round out the group of centres. St. Louis volunteered to play centre, so it will be interesting to see how he is able to make the transition after years of playing on the wing.

Dan Carcillo will slide back in the lineup with St. Louis taking the night.

With Chris Kreider out with a hand injury, St. Louis will be bumped to the top-line. St. Louis has just three assists with 22 shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in 11 games with the Rangers.

St Louis was listed as a game-time decision, but will be in the lineup vs. the Coyotes. He has just three assists in 10 games since being traded to the Rangers.

He will step into the lineup tonight and is expected to skate on a line with his former teammate Brad Richards and Carl Hagelin. St. Louis led the NHL in points with 60 last season and walks into the Rangers dressing room with 29 goals and 32 assists for 61 points, which is tied for eighth in the league.

Things had gone sour with St. Louis and Lightning GM Steve Yzerman and the result was St. Louis asking for a trade. Yzerman has granted St. Louis' request by sending him to the Rangers and reuniting him with former teammate Brad Richards. Without Steven Stamkos for 45 games, St. Louis still had 29 goals and 32 assists in 62 games this season.

There had been rumours that the Rangers are inquiring about St. Louis, but it seemed unlikely that he would be dealt because he is the captain of the Lightning and has been with the team since 2000-01. There is no word whether his trade request is associated with originally being snubbed from Team Canada by GM Steve Yzerman (a team he was later named to and won a gold medal with). There is no guarantee that St. Louis will be dealt, but with the Lightning poised to make a playoff run, they will want NHL ready and likely proven playoff performer(s) in return. St. Louis has 25 goals and 31 assists (56 points) with a plus-15 rating in 58 games.

St. Louis will skate on his regular line with Steve Stamkos and Ryan Malone. He has four goals and six assists (10 points) in six games.

St. Louis missed practice yesterday and today after taking a Drew Doughty shot off the foot on Tuesday. He has no broken bone in his foot and can't injure the foot anymore by playing on it, just comes down to pain tolerance. Brett Connolly would take St. Louis spot on the Lightning top line if he can't play.

St. Louis took a Drew Doughty shot to the foot last night and is not on the ice at Lightning practice this morning. Monitor his status during tomorrow's gameday skate before they take on the Wild.

"Marty St. Louis is not going to be traded," Steve Yzerman told ESPN.com on Friday. "He remains one of the best players in the league and an extremely important player to our team, both on and off the ice. We are a team in transition, we just made a coaching change, Marty is one of the leaders of the team, he is not going anywhere."

The Lightning are the best scoring team in the NHL after one week and St. Louis is a big reason why. He has 3 G and 8A including 1 GWG through 5 games.

St. Louis will try and help out the second line. He has 19 goals and 54 points in 55 games.
