Murray (concussion) faced shots on Tuesday and will travel on the Penguins upcoming road trip.

Murray has missed the last seven games with a concussion but he faced “full shots” before Tuesday’s practice and will accompany the team on their three-game road trip that starts Wednesday in New York. This doesn’t guarantee that Murray will start on the trip, but at least opens the door for him to practice with the team.

Murray stopped 33 of 34 shots in the Penguins win in St. Louis on Sunday. Murray has won four of five with a 2.76 GAA and .918 SV% since returning from the death of his father. The Penguins are really heating up right now and Murray is a must-start vs. the Senators this evening.

Murray allowed four goals on 25 shots in the Penguins win over the Golden Knights on Tuesday. Since returning to the Penguins crease, Murray is 3-0-0 with a 3.33 GAA and .900 SV%. The 23-year-old has not been nearly as good on the road as he has on home ice. Luckily for him he catches the Stars on the tail-end of a back-to-back, but they’ve been one of the best home teams in the NHL this season.

Murray has gone 2-0-0 while stopping 69 of 75 shots (.920 SV%) since returning to the Penguins’ crease. He will go head-to-head with his former teammate Marc-Andre Fleury.

Murray missed two games to attend to a family matter before joining his team on their Californian road-trip. It seemed like Murray was on-pace to start Wednesday’s game but his dad passed away so Murray will return home for an indefinite period of time.
