“There’s a lot of guys here, a good competition, but you have to worry about the things you can control and that’s yourself,” he said. “You have to get yourself ready to go every night and I feel like I’m doing a good job with that.”

Corrente likely goes back to the AHL due to the healthy competition during this season's training camp. Through 34 NHL games, the former first rounder is still searching for his first NHL goal. At this point he holds no fantasy value.

Corrente said he is “100 percent” healthy now after being limited to only 22 NHL games (and three AHL games with Albany) because of a right shoulder injury.

Corrente remains a longshot from making the team but improves his position for a mid-season callup. The former 30th overall pick has not quite developed as team brass had hoped.
