Devils prospect Matt Corrente, who has been sidelined with what the organization is calling a twisted leg, is expected to start skating again this week.
Corrente is currently down in Albany and figures to stay there until healthy and productive.

After clearing waivers today, defensemen Matt Corrente, Peter Harrold and Jay Leach and forwards Stephane Veilleux, Vladimir Zharkov and Tim Sestito were assigned to Albany of the AHL.
No immediate fantasy hockey value in the AHL.

“There’s a lot of guys here, a good competition, but you have to worry about the things you can control and that’s yourself,” he said. “You have to get yourself ready to go every night and I feel like I’m doing a good job with that.”
Corrente likely goes back to the AHL due to the healthy competition during this season's training camp. Through 34 NHL games, the former first rounder is still searching for his first NHL goal. At this point he holds no fantasy value.
Corrente said he is “100 percent” healthy now after being limited to only 22 NHL games (and three AHL games with Albany) because of a right shoulder injury.
Corrente remains a longshot from making the team but improves his position for a mid-season callup. The former 30th overall pick has not quite developed as team brass had hoped.
As I first mentioned in the comments on the previous post and on Twitter earlier, restricted free agent defenseman Matt Corrente accepted his one-year, two-way qualifying offer, his agent, Mark Guy said today. Corrente’s contract will carry an NHL salary of $660,000.
