Friberg failed to record a point in five games with the Ducks this season, but has 17 points (5G / 12A) in 25 games with San Diego (AHL). He will report to the Canadiens’ AHL affiliate in St. John’s.

Friberg had no points in five games with the Ducks, but he will head back to San Diego with Nick Ritchie and Michael Sgarbossa being recalled.

Friberg, 22, has scored three goals with two assists in seven games with San Diego this season. He will make his season debut tonight vs. the Panthers because Jiri Sekac (ankle) is on IR. Friberg failed to record a point in his NHL debut in 2014-15.

Friberg failed to record a point while playing 8:47 in his NHL debut on Sunday. His return to the AHL opens up a roster spot for Corey Perry to be activated from IR.

Friberg, 22, has registered five goals and six assists (11 points) in 14 games with Norfolk this season. He is expected to make his NHL debut tonight vs. the Canucks.
