After six seasons in Anaheim, Max Jones has signed a two-year contract worth $2 million ($1,000,000 AAV) with Boston. The 26-year-old has never surpassed 20 points in any of his six seasons but had five goals, 15 points and 33 PIMs in 52 games played in 2023-24.
Jones was a late scratch on Tuesday, with the team not announcing his injury until warmups. His absence makes way for the return of Trevor Zegras (ankle).
Pavol Regenda will replace Jones, who will be out of the lineup due to an illness. Jones has been semi-productive lately for the low-scoring Ducks, tallying five points (1G / 4A), 15 shots, and 18 hits in the last seven games.
Jones has not played since January 5th, missing 12 games with an upper-body injury, but will return to the lineup on Friday against the Edmonton Oilers. In 34 games this season, the 25-year-old Jones has eight points (4G / 4A).
Jones has not played since Dec. 12th due to an upper-body injury and will return to the Ducks' lineup Wednesday vs. Edmonton. Jones had two goals, three assists, 31 PIMs, 39 SOG and a -11 plus/minus through 28 games prior to the injury.
Jones was a late scratch Tuesday and is considered day-to-day after he was scratched during warmups Tuesday due to an upper-body injury. The 24-year-old has two goals, three assists, 31 PIMs and 39 SOG through 28 games this season prior to missing Tuesday.
This surgery will sideline Jones until at least the end of February, which means he could be back when the NHL returns from the Olympic break. The Ducks have 29 games after that break.
Jones has been sent back to Anaheim, suggesting that his injury is relatively serious. With Jones out, Derek Grant will remain in the Ducks lineup on Thursday.
