Comtois recently returned from a 16-game absence due to a hand injury and is back on the shelf after landing in COVID-19 protocol on Sunday. Sam Steel joined Comtois as the only two Ducks currently in protocol.
Comtois has been out since November 11th with a broken hand but the Ducks said he is "super close to returning." His return to the lineup could come as soon as Friday vs. the Coyotes. It's unclear who Comtois will replace but there's a good chance he'll be with Ryan Getzlaf and Troy Terry.

Comtois is reportedly banged up with an undisclosed ailment, so he is expected to be scratched on Thursday. Brian Gibbons is expected to replace him in the lineup on the Ducks’ fourth line.
