Bournival was originally a third-round pick of the Avalanche (No.71 overall) in 2010. The 27-year-old winger had 12 goals and 10 assists (22 points) in 113 career NHL games and appeared in over 200 AHL games.
Bournival, 25, has picked up 15 goals and 16 assists (31 points) in 49 games with Syracuse this season. With both Nikita Kucherov and Tyler Johnson banged up, Bournival could draw into the lineup on Wednesday. The 25-year-old has just 22 points (12G / 10A) in 112 career NHL games.

Bournival will miss this afternoon's tilt with the Lightning which will allow Christian Thomas to make his Canadiens debut. Bournival is considered questionable for Sunday's matinee.
Bournival had to be helped off of the ice after suffering a bruised foot after blocking a shot last night. He underwent X-rays that revealed no broken bones, which is good news, but he remains doubtful for tonight's matchup with Pittsburgh.
The 21-year-old Bournival will make his NHL debut tonight following the news of Pacioretty's absence. He had 10 goals and 20 assists (30 points) in 69 games for the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) last season.
Bournival has dominated the QMJHL and is currently representing Team Canada at the World Juniors. Expect to see his name frequently over the next couple of years.
