Chaput and Valtteri Puustinen were recalled from the AHL to take Evgeni Malkin's (COVID-19) spot on the roster. Chaput, who has three goals and nine assists (12 points) in 25 AHL games this season, could make his Penguins debut on Tuesday.
Chaput spent most of the 2019-20 season in the AHL, picking up 16 goals with 13 assists (29 points) in 47 games. He had no points in two NHL appearances, bringing his career numbers to 22 points (6G / 16A) in 169 career games with the Coyotes, Canadiens, Canucks and Blue Jackets.
With Carl Soderberg out with a lower-body injury, Chaput has been brought up from Tucson and will play in his 168th career NHL games. Chaput has nine goals and three assists (12 points) in 15 AHL games this season.
Chaput did not appear in a game with the Coyotes and returns to the Roadrunners, where he has five goals and one assist in nine games.
Chaput has split the season between the NHL and AHL. The 26-year-old has five assists in 32 games with the Canadiens and 16 points (10G / 6A) in 24 games with Laval. Chaput will likely serve on the Flyers fourth-line.
Chaput was a healthy scratch in Detroit on Tuesday but will replace Matthew Peca on Thursday. Chaput has collected just four assists in 22 games this season.
Chaput has split the last five seasons between the AHL and NHL with the Blue Jackets and Canucks organizations. He has posted strong numbers in the AHL, collecting 42 points (17G / 25A) in 55 games with Utica (AHL) last season. He is expected to be in Rockford (AHL) to start this upcoming season.
Mumps is ripping through the Canucks’ dressing room and will keep Chaput out of the lineup tonight. With Chaput out, Alexandre Grenier was called up from Utica (AHL) and is expected to draw into the lineup.
Chaput, 24, has been off to a great start in Utica, picking up two goals and 11 assists (13 points) in 10 games. With Jannik Hansen landing on IR, the Canucks have recalled Chaput, who could make his Canucks debut on Monday. The former third round pick has eight points (2G / 6A) in 58 career NHL games.
Chaput had one goal in three games during his call up but sat out as a healthy scratch on Thursday. Chaput heads back to the AHL where he has 10 points (6G / 4A) in 19 games this season.

Chaput, 22, has recorded two assists with eight penalty minutes and averaged 10:51 of ice time while playing in all 18 games this season with the Blue Jackets. With a healthy Matt Calvert and Jack Skille set to return on Friday, there was no longer room for Chaput.
Chaput, 21, collected one assist and two penalty minutesin 17 games with the Blue Jackets and has two goals and four points with a plus-4 rating in six games with Springfield this season.
Chaput was recalled in the case Ryan Johansen couldn't play tonight, but he will.
Chaput expects to slot into Johansen's third line role.
