Mike Green News
Mike Green didn’t skate Friday and he won’t be making the trip to Winnipeg with the Capitals this afternoon because he aggravated the groin injury that caused him to miss three games in February.

Green has had a hard time staying healthy over the last few years and nothing has changed this season. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Mike Green isn't on the ice for #Caps practice. Kundratek skating with Alzner.

Green missed three games with a lower-body injury but returned on Tuesday and played on Wednesday as well. This could just be a maintenance day for Green but more details will follow as they become available.

Green will play tonight.

Green sat out Washington's last three games but will be back in the lineup tonight when the Capitals play Carolina. Green plays 26+ minutes a game so this is a big addition to the Caps lineup. He has 2 G and 5 A in 14 games this season.

#Caps' Mike Green says "It's better I be safe than sorry." Status uncertain for tomorrow's game vs. Devils

Green was a game-time decision for the last two games and sat out both. It appears he will be a game-time decision again tomorrow so monitors his status prior to puck drop.

Mike Green "didn't want to be explosive" in practice today, Adam Oates said. That's why he left after 10 minutes. Questionable for tomorrow.

Green missed the Capitals last contest and is questionable for tomorrow's game vs. New Jersey. Green has had a mediocre season posting 2 G and 5 A in 14 games. His 7 points is tied for 30th among NHL defencemen.

Mike Green has a lower-body injury and his status for the Washington Capitals’ game Sunday at the New York Rangers is uncertain, coach Adam Oates said Saturday.

Green was apparently injured Thursday night at Tampa and only participated in about 15-20 mins of practice. He has 7 points in 14 games so far this season and in the small sample size, it appears as if his league leading offensive defenseman days are over.

#Caps defenseman Mike Green has been suspended for three games.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse in Washington, this suspension hits. Green has been relatively useless since returning from injury, scoring three goals and six points in 20 games.

Mike Green will be out for warmups at least for Washington tonight. He's dressed and in the tunnel ready to come out. A great sight to see.

Expect Green to play and for the Caps to dress seven defensemen. The former All Star has been limited to only 10 games this season.

#Caps Green says they'll make a decision tomorrow on if he'll go on the trip

Good news for Green as he continues to progress. Limited to only 10 games this season, the Caps are hoping to squeeze at least another month out of their top offensive defenseman.
