Mike Green News
Meanwhile, Mike Green, who missed a third straight game with a twisted right ankle Tuesday, was out on the ice in full pads as players trickled out of the dressing room for the start of practice. But after roughly 10 minutes the defenseman had removed his gear and was watching his teammates practice from the bench.

Another setback for the former fantasy stud. We'll continue to monitor the situation. New Caps lines - http://www2.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/lines/42/washington-capitals

Mike Green isn't fully ready to get back in the Capitals lineup just yet, but him just being on the ice Tuesday was a major sign of progress.

Green claimed he only needed one good practice to get back into game shape. The next won't dress him tonight but they could get him back into the lineup either Friday, November 4th or Saturday, November 5th.

Defenseman Mike Green is not skating for the seventh straight day since “twisting” his right ankle against Detroit, which would seem to indicate that he won’t be available for tomorrow’s game against visiting Anaheim.

Keep Green on the bench for the time being. The elite offensive defenseman likely will need at least another week to get back into game shape.

Capitals defenseman Mike Green will sit out of tonight's game against the Vancouver Canucks (CSN, 10 p.m.) and might be sidelined until next weekend's games in Carolina and Long Island.

Certainly not great news for Mike Green owners, who would like their top defender back in the lineup ASAP. Stay tuned for a further update on the elite d-man.

No Mike Green (right ankle) again this morning is obviously not good news. Sean Collins in, #Caps must adjust.

As expected, Mike Green is officially out of the lineup. Look for Sean Collins to round out the top six with Dennis Wideman and John Carlson grabbing some extra PP time.

Boudreau said Wednesday that it “doesn’t look good” for the blueliner to be ready to face Edmonton after Green missed three days of practice with a twisted right ankle suffered against the Detroit Red Wings.

Expect rookie Sean Collins to fill in for Mike Green on the blue line. Dennis Wideman likely assumes most of his PP time.

EDMONTON, Alberta | Bruce Boudreau was hopeful on Tuesday that defenseman Mike Green would skate with the Capitals Wednesday at Rexall Place. But when the team took the ice for practice, the All-Star defenseman was absent.

Green is doubtful to play tomorrow's game but stay tuned for an official update from the team.

The Capitals are on the ice at KCI for their final practice in Washington before departing for a two-game trip to western Canada Tuesday afternoon, but defenseman Mike Green is not skating with the group.

Green has not practiced for the past three days and should be listed as doubtful for the team's two-game Western Conference swing. Stay tuned for a further update.

Mike Green walking with a pretty significant limp. His right foot is wrapped. Asked if he'd play Thurs said "We'll see." #Caps

Not good news for Green owners, especially after coming off one of his best performances in years. Stay tuned for a further update from the team.

#Caps defenseman Mike Green - who took a shot off the hand in 2P vs. Chicago - is on the ice for 3P warm-ups.

Green took a shot off his hand and would have came out if the injury was serious. The Caps will need to protect their star defender if they want him to reach past totals of around 20 goals and 70 points. At this point, the injury does not sound serious at all.

They've also pushed Green into a bit of a reduced role. In addition to taking the 25-to-30-minute games away from Green, the young duo has pushed the Young Gun into a spot as the unofficial No. 3 defenseman.

Green will be put to the ultimate test this season as he attempts to earn playing time that was once his. Coming off a season where he only suited up for 49 games, the 25-year-old could easily pot 15+ goals if put in the right situations.
