Caamano had two goals, nine assists, 10 PIMs and a +7 plus/minus through 29 games played with Texas (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension worth $775,000. The 24-year-old right-winger was drafted by Dallas in the fifth-round of the 2016 NHL Draft (146th overall) and has a goal and two assists through 36 career NHL games played.

Caamano appeared in all six games with the Stars during his call-up, scoring one goal on six shots while playing 11:00 ATOI. Caamano’s return to the AHL is a sign that Corey Perry will be back in the Stars lineup as soon as Wednesday.

Both Jason Dickinson (upper-body) and Blake Comeau (lower-body) were hurt in the Stars season opener and Caamano and Rhett Gardner were called-up to replace them. Caamano was a fifth-round pick in 2016 and is coming off of a season in which he posted 12 goals and 12 assists (24 points) in 73 AHL games last season.
