Nashville, Tenn. (November 23, 2011) – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that forward Niclas Bergfors has cleared waivers and been assigned to Milwaukee (AHL).
Bergfors holds no fantasy hockey value with this demotion. Drop him if you still own him.

Bergfors has played in only 11 of the team's 19 games and has not quite worked out on the fourth line. He holds no fantasy hockey value while on waivers and is probably universally safe to drop.

Trotz also said that forward Niclas Bergfors will play tomorrow against Vancouver. So far Bergfors has played only one game — Nashville’s home opener against Phoenix. Bergfors played 9:39 and was a plus-2.
No further announcement of who would come out of the lineup with Bergfors coming in but one would guess Brian McGrattan. Stay tuned for a further update.

“Obviously you want to play,” Bergfors said. “That’s what you want to do, especially in the beginning of the season when you’ve been waiting all summer. But that’s up to the coaches. I just try to work hard and stay focused. I’m going to be ready for my chance.”

Bergfors started last season as a healthy scratch as well before the Florida Panthers chose to not offer him a qualifying offer. Don't expect too much until he can prove to coach Barry Trotz he will be a contributing member of the lineup.
