Ozzy Wiesblatt News
Wiesblatt will make his season debut in Toronto on Tuesday.

Wiesblatt will draw into the lineup for the first time this season in favour of Joakim Kemell, who is a healthy scratch. A former first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Wiesblatt made his NHL debut last season, registering zero goals and one assist in five games for the Predators.

Wiesblatt (undisclosed) will not play in the Predators season opener on Thursday.

Wiesblatt made his NHL debut with Nashville last season, recording one assist in five games, and hopes to be a more regular NHLer in the 2025-26 season. He took warmups with the team on Thursday but will not be on the opening night roster. The 23-year-old forward was San Jose's 31st-overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Nashville has acquired Ozzy Wiesblatt from San Jose for Egor Afanasyev.

With Egor Afanasyev looking for a way out of Nashville if he didn't get more ice time next season, San Jose jumped all over the rumours and acquired the 23-year-old towering left-winger in a one-for-one trade for right-winger Ozzy Wieblatt. Wiesblatt was San Jose's 2020 first-round pick (31st overall) and spent the 2023-24 season with both San Jose (AHL) and Milwaukee (AHL). In his second AHL season since making the jump from the WHL, he had only four goals and 17 points combined in 50 games played.
