Patrick Eaves News
Eaves (illness) has been ruled out for the entirety of the 2019-20 season.

Eaves has played just nine games over the last two seasons due to an illness. "Whatever you want to call what he had keeps resurfacing,” GM Bob Murray said. :He's tried a couple times to come back, but he and his wife have decided that's enough for now, and I totally agree with that at this point in time." Eaves will sit out the entire 2020 season and his career is in jeopardy at this point.

Eaves cleared waivers and was assigned to San Diego (AHL).

Eaves has had a brutal time with injuries in the last couple of seasons and has been limited to just seven games this season. Eaves has appeared in just nine games over the last two seasons so maybe an extended run in the AHL will help him get back up to speed.

Eaves (illness) will not play on Thursday.

Eaves sat in the second game of the Ducks’ back-to-back earlier in the week and will be out for a second straight game as he battles an illness. Eaves continues to have a difficult time staying on the ice and will be replaced by Adam Cracknell for the second contest in a row.

Eaves (shoulder) is expected to make his season debut on Thursday.

Eaves is expected to play in his first game since October 13th, 2017. The veteran skated on a line with Adam Henrique and Isac Lundestrom in Wednesday’s practice and GM Bob Murray said that there was a “96 percent” chance that Eaves plays tonight.

Eaves (shoulder) is not expected to play in the Ducks’ season opener.

Eaves had shoulder surgery last season and still has not been cleared for contact in training camp. Eaves could join his teammates for practice later this week, but head coach Randy Carlyle does not expect him to be in the lineup on October 3rd.

Eaves is out after being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system. Thankfully, Eaves is reportedly resting comfortably at a hospital in Newport Beach. There’s no word on how long this diagnosis is expected to sideline the veteran winger.

Eaves (lower-body) will not travel on the Ducks’ four-game road trip.

Eaves has missed five of the Ducks’ first seven games of the season and it looks like he will miss at least four more. Eaves was moved to IR with a lower-body ailment and will not join the team for their road-trip which starts Tuesday in Philadelphia.

Eaves (lower-body) took part in the morning skate; will be a game-time decision tonight.

Eaves missed the first three games of the regular season, but it looks like he will make his season debut tonight vs. the Islanders. Eaves is officially listed as a game-time decision after skating with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry in the morning skate. Monitor his statues when the Ducks hit the ice for pre-game warmups.

Eaves (lower-body) will start the regular season on injured reserve.

The Ducks season has not got off to the best start as Eaves joins Ryan Miller, Ryan Kesler, Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen on IR. Head coach Randy Carlyle said Eaves was probable for the season opener, but his movement to IR suggests otherwise. Look for him to miss at least the first week of the season.

The Ducks signed Patrick Eaves to a three-year, $9.45M extension ($3.15M AAV) on Friday.

Eaves started the 2016-17 season in Dallas, where he tallied a career-high 21 goals and 37 points before being dealt to Anaheim at the deadline, where he added another 11 goals and three assists—32 goals and 19 assists (51 points) total. The 33-year-old winger is like whiskey as it appears he is getting better with age. Of course he has been aided by playing with players like Tyler Seguin, Jaime Benn and Ryan Getzlaff, but there’s no reason to not expect him to get back to 20-goals next year, especially given his knack for cashing in on the power-play—24 PPG in the last three seasons.
