Granberg, 24, has appeared in just nine games with the Predators this season and cleared waivers on Monday. He returns to Milwaukee, where he has no points in 16 games this season.
Granberg, 23, spent the majority of the 2015-16 season as an extra defensman for the Predators, appearing in 27 games with Nashville and six games with Milwaukee (AHL). He picked up two assists during his time with the Predators and will likely fill the same role in 2016-17.
Granberg has been a healthy scratch in the last four games, but will be in the lineup tonight in Winnipeg. Granberg has no points in 13:12 TOI in his season debut on January 9th. Anthony Bitetto will be a healthy scratch with Granberg back in.
Granberg was a minus-1 in 14:18 in last night’s loss to the Islanders. The Maple Leafs will need to recall another defenseman before Wednesday’s game against the Sabres.
Granberg, 22, has no points in six games with the Maple Leafs this season. While with the Marlies, he has 12 points (1G / 11A) in 35 games. He will likely finish with the season with the Maple Leafs with Stephane Robidas and Roman Polak both out for the year.
With Dion Phaneuf returning to the lineup on Thursday, Granberg’s services are no longer needed, so he has been reassigned to the Marlies.
Granberg was sent down yesterday, but when the Maple Leafs traded Cody Franson to the Predators a spot on the Leafs blue line opened back up. Granberg will likely lineup next to Morgan Rielly on Tuesday.

Granberg’s recall suggests that one of the Maple Leafs defenseman’s status for tonight is in doubt. If Granberg gets into the lineup, it would be his fourth game of the season—he has no points in his first three games.

Granburg, 21, was a Leafs' fourth round pick (116th overall) in 2010. He has six points (2G / 4A) with a plus-18 rating in 69 games in his first season with the Toronto Marlies. He will likely make his NHL debut tonight as the Leafs rest one of their defensemen.
