Grubauer stood tall in Game 2, allowing just two goals on 37 shots to allow the Avalanche to sneak away with a 3-2 OT win and a tied series heading back to Colorado. Grubauer has posted a .926 SV% through two games and was 10-5-1 with a 2.56 GAA and .913 SV% at the Pepsi Center this season.

Grubauer allowed two goals on 27 shots in Colorado’s loss in St. Louis on Monday. Grubauer was giving the next night off but will be back in the crease tonight vs. the Jets. Grubauer has played exceptionally as of late but struggled in his first game vs. Winnipeg—allowing six goals on 20 shots in a 7-4 loss.

It was one of the easiest shutouts Grubauer will ever post and comes into Monday’s game at 2-1-0 with a 0.83 GAA, .958 SV% and two shutouts in his last five appearances (two starts). In his first start against the Hurricanes, Grubauer stopped 42 of 43 shots in a 3-1 win (Oct.20).

Grubauer allowed two goals on 23 shots in Colorado’s loss in Anaheim last Sunday. Grubauer has played very well in his last two starts and two relief appearances, stopping 72 of the last 75 shots (.960 SV%) that he has faced. The 27-year-old has gone 4-4-1 with a 3.32 GAA and .883 SV% at the Pepsi Center this season.

Grubauer allowed five goals on 28 shots in Colorado’s loss to Minnesota on January 23rd. Since mid-December, Grubauer has gone 1-4-0 with a 4.12 GAA and .862 SV% in his last seven starts. Grubauer was great in Washington but has not had the same success in Colorado but has a nice matchup vs. a Blue Jackets team that has lost five in a row.

Grubauer gave up six goals on 20 shots in Winnipeg back on January 8th. Semyon Varlamov had an extended run in Colorado’s crease but Grubauer will get a shot at the Wild on Wednesday. The 27-year-old has gone 4-2-1 with a 2.94 GAA and .894 SV% at the Pepsi Center this season.

As bad as he and the Avalanche have been as of late, he has a nice matchup against a Rangers team that is 6-10-2 on the road.
